Dear Parents/Guardians of ABRHS Seniors,
In a few short months the anticipation and excitement that surrounds graduation will be upon you and your son or daughter. To honor our graduates, the Acton Boxborough Community has once again been busy planning for Project Graduation 2009, our 20th year!
Project Graduation, an all night, alcohol and drug-free party exclusively for ABRHS graduating seniors is a night to honor our graduates in a safe environment. The event is held at ABRHS where local artists and set designers will have completely transformed the school into a magical surprise theme. The evening is filled with live entertainment, food of all kinds, games, psychics, a casino, a DJ, comedians, a hypnotist and much, much more. Prizes and scholarships are also awarded during the event.
Project Graduation takes place starting at 10:00 pm on June 5th and runs through Saturday morning June 6th at 5:00 am. Seniors are welcome to check-in between 10-11pm and will not be allowed to leave the building until 5:00 am. There are ample chaperones to help the event run smoothly including ensuring that all the seniors are safely enjoying themselves and stay in the building until 5am. Parents of our graduates can get a good night's sleep knowing that their graduates are in a safe and fun environment.
As has been tradition at AB, senior parents are never asked to volunteer to work on Project Graduation because of the many activities seniors and their families are involved in. You as parents (but not your senior) are welcome to join the community for a sneak preview of our transformed high school between 8:00 and 9:00 pm on June 5th.
Project Graduation is a totally self-supporting event. The funding comes from outside the school. The primary fundraising comes from parent donations, ticket sales (seniors pay only $15.00), business donations and fundraisers at Roche Bros. and various local restaurants. We want to take this opportunity to thank you for any donations made to this wonderful event in past years and would be very appreciative if you would consider a donation this year. Every donation helps ensure that this terrific event will continue for years to come.
Project Graduation is one of those traditions that make this community special. Thank you for supporting this magical event for your senior!
